The Bull's Secret Cable

Ten-year-old Lily loved exploring the beach near her home. One sunny morning, she discovered something strange half-buried in the sand – a thick, shimmering cable that seemed to glow from inside.

"What is this?" Lily whispered, following the cable as it snaked across the beach toward the ancient palm tree at the edge of the woods. The cable pulsed with soft light, like a heartbeat made of stars.

Beneath the palm's fronds, Lily gasped. A magnificent bull lay resting in the shade – but this was no ordinary bull. His coat shimmered with constellation patterns, and his eyes held the wisdom of a thousand years.

"Hello, little one," the bull spoke in a voice like distant thunder. "I've been waiting for someone kind enough to find my cable."

Lily's eyes widened. "You can talk?"

"I am a star-bull," he explained, "and my cable connects me to my home in the night sky. But I'm stuck here until someone helps me recharge its magic."

The bull's massive horns were gentle, not scary. Lily noticed the cable was frayed where it touched the ground. "I can help!" she said, racing to her house. She returned with her father's tools and carefully spliced the cable's glowing strands.

"Thank you," the bull rumbled gratefully. "You've shown me that even small hands can fix big problems."

As the cable blazed brighter, the bull began to float upward, connected to earth only by the shimmering line. "Come visit me someday," he called down. "Look for the brightest bull in the winter sky!"

Lily waved until the bull became a new constellation twinkling above the palm tree. That night, she made a wish on her new friend – that everyone would find their own way to help others, no matter how small they might feel.

From then on, whenever Lily saw that constellation, she remembered: kindness is the strongest magic of all.
