The Bull's Magical Baseball
Leo loved playing baseball in his backyard. His orange cat, Mango, always watched from the fence, swishing her tail every time Leo hit the ball. One afternoon, Leo stacked his baseball cards into a giant pyramid. Just as he finished, Mango knocked it over.
But something strange happened. Among the scattered cards, Leo found one he'd never seen before—a card with a picture of a golden pyramid that seemed to shimmer.
When Leo picked it up, he and Mango tumbled through sparkling light. They landed in a desert where a giant bull with fur like sunset stood guard before a magnificent pyramid. But this wasn't a scary bull. He had kind eyes and a friendly smile.
"Hello!" said the bull, whose name was Barnaby. "I've been waiting 100 years for someone brave enough to visit."
"Aren't bulls scary?" Leo asked.
Barnaby laughed, a warm sound like thunder in a cozy storm. "That's what people think. But I learned something important guarding this pyramid: real courage isn't about being big and strong. It's about being kind enough to make friends."
He showed Leo and Mango the inside of the pyramid, where magical baseballs glowed like stars. "Would you like to play catch?" Barnaby asked. "It's been so long since I had someone to play with."
They spent the afternoon playing baseball under the desert sky, Mango chasing every ball. When it was time to leave, Barnaby gave Leo a glowing baseball. "Keep this," he said. "It will remind you that friendship is the bravest thing of all."
Leo woke up in his backyard, Mango curled beside him. But there, on the grass, sat the glowing baseball. And sometimes, when Leo held it, he could hear Barnaby's friendly laugh, reminding him that kindness is the greatest courage of all.
