The Bull's Magic Pool
Lily loved visiting her grandmother's farm, especially the secret spot behind the old barn where a sparkling pool of water hidden among the willow trees. The pool wasn't just any water — it shimmered with rainbow colors when the sunlight touched it.
One afternoon, while munching on fresh spinach from the garden, Lily heard a gentle snort. Behind the oak tree stood the most magnificent creature she'd ever seen — a huge white bull with kind golden eyes and fur that sparkled like tiny stars.
"You found my magic pool," the bull said in a voice deep and warm like summer thunder. "I'm Barnaby, guardian of the crystal waters."
Lily's iphone slipped from her pocket as she reached out to touch Barnaby's gleaming horn. Where the phone touched the enchanted water, ripples of blue and silver spread outward, and suddenly the water showed dancing pictures — stories of children from long ago who had discovered this magical place.
"The spinach you're eating," Barnaby explained with a twinkle in his eye, "comes from the garden I've blessed with crystal water. It gives those who eat it the gift of seeing magic."
Lily's heart swelled with wonder. "Can I visit again?"
"Always," Barnaby promised. "But remember, magic like this must be shared with kind hearts. True magic isn't in the water or the spinach or even in me. It's in the wonder you feel, and the kindness you show to others."
That summer, Lily brought her little brother to the magic pool. Together they watched Barnaby emerge from the shimmering water, and they learned that the best magic of all is the wonder and joy we share with those we love.
