The Bull and the Moonlit Pool

Young Lily discovered the hidden pool exactly when she needed it most. The water sparkled like liquid diamonds under the full moon, surrounded by fireflies that danced like tiny stars.

She had wandered far from her grandmother's cottage, following the sound of gentle splashing. There, drinking from the magical pool, stood the most magnificent creature she had ever seen—a great golden bull with eyes that held ancient wisdom.

"Don't be afraid," the bull spoke, his voice warm like honey. "I've been waiting for someone who truly needs this place."

Lily stepped forward, her heart pounding. She had run away because the other children laughed at her wild, curly hair and her too-big hat that she refused to remove, even though it had been her mother's.

"This pool," the bull explained, "shows you not how you look, but who you truly are inside."

He nudged her gently toward the water's edge. Lily looked into the pool and gasped. Instead of her reflection, she saw galaxies swirling, stories waiting to be written, adventures yet to come—and most wonderfully, she saw kindness radiating like golden light.

"Your hair isn't messy," the bull said softly. "It's a crown of creativity. And your hat? It's not hiding anything—it's carrying your mother's love, making you braver than you know."

Lily touched her hat. For the first time, she understood. The other children saw only what was on the outside. But she had something magical inside.

"Thank you," she whispered, hugging the bull's massive neck.

"Remember," the bull replied, "the most beautiful people are those who dare to be themselves. Now go—your grandmother is waiting, and she has stories to share about that special hat."

Lily ran home, no longer running away but running toward something wonderful. Her hair bounced like springs of joy. Her hat sat proudly on her head, a crown of courage.

And every night after that, she could hear the bull splashing in his magical pool, reminding her that being different was the most beautiful thing of all.
