The Bull and the Moon Pyramid

Barnaby was not like other bulls. While they slept in fields, Barnaby spent his nights gazing at the stars, his hooves tucked beneath him like a cat's paws.

One evening, a small calico cat named Luna crept out of the farmhouse. She spotted Barnaby and padded over.

"Why aren't you sleeping?" Luna asked, her green eyes wide with wonder.

"I'm waiting for something magical," Barnaby whispered, his voice deep and gentle as summer thunder. "Tonight, the Moon Pyramid opens."

"What's a Moon Pyramid?"

Barnaby pointed toward the hills with his nose. "A pyramid made of silver moonlight. It appears only once a year, when the moon is exactly full. Inside, there's a treasure more precious than gold."

Luna's tail twitched with excitement. "Can I come?"

"But you're so small—and I'm so big. And it's far away. We'd have to go running all night."

"That's exactly what cats are best at!" Luna declared. "Besides, big friends and small friends make the best adventures."

So they set off, Barnaby's heavy hooves and Luna's light paws moving together under the starlight. They were running past streams that whispered secrets and through forests that hummed with crickets' songs.

Just as dawn began to paint the sky pink, they crested the final hill. There, shimmering in the fading moonlight, stood a pyramid made entirely of soft, glowing silver.

They stepped inside—and gasped. The treasure wasn't jewels or gold coins. It was a mirror that reflected not their appearances, but their dreams: Barnaby saw himself surrounded by friends who loved stargazing, and Luna saw herself exploring new worlds with brave companions.

"The real treasure," Barnaby said softly, "is finding friends who see the same magic you do."

They walked home as the sun rose, a bull and a cat, tired but transformed. And every full moon after that, they would return to their Moon Pyramid, always running toward new adventures together.
