The Bull and the Magic Pool
Lily loved exploring her grandmother's backyard, especially on hot summer days. Behind the old oak tree, she discovered something she had never noticed before—a sparkling blue pool that seemed to glow with its own light. The water looked so inviting that she couldn't resist dipping her toes in.
The moment her foot touched the surface, something magical happened. Instead of getting wet, she found herself standing on soft, golden sand. Before her rose a magnificent pyramid, shining like honey in the sunlight. Its sides sparkled with tiny gemstones that winked like stars caught in stone.
"Hello, little one," came a deep, gentle voice.
Lily looked around and gasped. Standing beside her was a beautiful bull with fur the color of sunset gold and horns that curved like crescent moons. But this wasn't a scary bull—his eyes were warm and kind, filled with ancient wisdom.
"I'm Ruby," the bull said with a smile. "Welcome to the Pyramid of Wishes."
Lily's eyes grew wide. "You can talk!"
"Inside this special pyramid," Ruby explained, "all the dreams of children are kept safe. Would you like to see?"
Hand in hoof, they climbed the pyramid's steps. Inside, walls glowed with colorful paintings—children flying like birds, swimming like fish, dancing with stars. Every picture was a dream made real.
"What's your dream, Lily?" Ruby asked.
Lily thought for a moment. "I want to be an explorer who discovers magical places and makes friends everywhere."
Ruby nodded wisely. "The greatest explorers carry kindness in their hearts. That's the real magic."
As the sun began to set, Ruby led Lily back through the pyramid. "Come back anytime, my friend. The pool will always be waiting."
Lily stepped back through the water and found herself in her grandmother's yard again. The pool looked ordinary now, but she knew its secret.
That night, Lily fell asleep with a smile. She had discovered something wonderful: real magic isn't just about enchanted places or talking bulls. It's about friendship, following your dreams, and keeping your heart open to adventure.
And every summer after that, Lily would visit her magic pool friend, collecting dreams and sharing stories—because the best adventures are the ones you share with someone special.
