The Brave Little Zombie Goldfish

Lily's goldfish, Finny, had been her best friend for three years. He had orange scales like tiny sunset feathers and swam in happy circles whenever she tapped the glass. But one morning, Finny floated at the top of his bowl, not moving at all.

One afternoon, the meanest bull in Farmer McGregor's field escaped. It stomped down Main Street, huffing and puffing, making everyone scatter. People hid in shops. Even the brave mail carrier ducked behind a truck.

But Lily stood tall. Her zombie goldfish friend swam forward, leaving sparkly trails in the air. Finny blew bubbles that popped with tiny rainbows, distracting the confused bull. The bull had never seen a flying fish before! Its angry eyes softened with wonder.

Lily stepped closer. "It's okay, Mr. Bull," she said softly. "You're just scared too."

The bull lowered its head, letting Lily pet its nose. Finny swam around its horns, leaving little glowing trails. Soon, Farmer McGregor arrived, amazed to find the bull calm and gentle.
