The Boy With Starry Hair
Leo had the wildest hair in town. It was brown, curly, and stuck up like he had just woken up - even after his mom brushed it twenty times. 'Why can't my hair stay flat?' Leo sighed, looking in the mirror before school.
One afternoon, Leo was playing baseball in his backyard. He swung his bat with all his might, but the ball sailed over the fence and disappeared into a neighbor's papaya tree. Leo climbed over and found something strange - a glowing papaya!
When he took a bite, sweet and tropical, his hair began to sparkle. Little stars twinkled in each curl! Leo gasped. Then, above him, clouds parted and the most magnificent creature appeared - a Cloud Bull, pure white and fluffy as cotton.
'I've been waiting for someone with magical hair!' the Bull said in a rumble like distant thunder. 'I'm Benny, and I need a friend to play baseball with me in the sky!'
Leo's hair floated upward, lifting him right off the ground! Higher and higher they soared until they stood on a cloud. 'Your hair connects you to magic,' Benny explained. 'That's why it never stays flat - it's full of stardust!'
They played the most wonderful game of baseball. The ball was a shooting star, the bases were cloud puffs, and Benny could hit a ball all the way to the moon! Leo felt like he was flying.
'But I must go back now,' Leo said as the sun set.
Benny smiled. 'Your wild hair isn't messy - it's marvelous. Never wish to be like everyone else. Your difference is your gift!'
Leo floated home, his curls still sparkling. The next morning, he didn't try to comb his hair flat. Instead, he wore it with pride, knowing that somewhere above, a Cloud Bull was waiting for their next magical baseball game under the stars.
