The Boy With Lightning Hair
Leo had the most unusual hair anyone had ever seen. It stuck straight up, wild and spikey, as if he'd been struck by lightning. Kids at school giggled and called him Lightning Leo, which made him want to hide.
One sunny afternoon, Leo sat beneath a swaying palm tree at the park, watching other kids play baseball. He loved baseball but never joined in—what if they laughed at his hair too?
Suddenly, CRACK! A real bolt of lightning flashed from the blue sky and struck right in front of him. When Leo opened his eyes, a glowing baseball sat on the grass. He reached out his palm, and when his skin touched the ball, something magical happened.
His crazy hair began to sparkle and shimmer like tiny stars! The baseball floated into the air and zoomed around him like a playful puppy.
"Whoa!" exclaimed Maya, a girl from the baseball game. She'd seen everything. "That's AMAZING!"
Leo expected her to laugh. Instead, her eyes shone with wonder.
"Can your hair do magic tricks?" she asked excitedly. "We need someone special like you on our team!"
For the first time, Leo's smile reached his eyes. His magical hair helped him hit homeruns that soared like fireworks, and he caught balls by making them spiral gently into his palm.
That day, Leo learned something wonderful: being different wasn't bad at all. Sometimes, the very things that make us unusual are our greatest gifts. And with true friends, your quirks become your superpowers.
From then on, Lightning Leo wore his wild hair with pride, knowing it made him perfectly, beautifully himself.
