The Boy Who Swam the Sky

Leo loved his grandpa's old hat. It was blue and fuzzy, with a silver star right in the middle. Every day, wearing that hat, he would go running through the meadow, pretending he was flying through clouds.

One sunny afternoon, Leo found something strange dangling from the old oak tree. It was a golden cable, shimmering like captured sunlight, stretching all the way up into the blue sky. His heart thumped with excitement.

'I wonder...' Leo whispered.

He grabbed the magical cable and—WHOOSH! Suddenly he wasn't holding a cable at all, but swimming through warm, sparkling air. Fish made of fluffy white bubbles swam beside him. The sky was an ocean of wonders!

Then he saw him—a magnificent bull made of storm clouds, with lightning crackling gently around his golden horns. The Cloud Bull wasn't scary. He had kind eyes the color of gentle rain.

'You found the Sky Cable!' the bull rumbled, his voice like distant thunder. 'Only special children can see it.'

Leo noticed tears falling from the bull's eyes. 'What's wrong?'

'My baby cloud is lost,' the bull said sadly. 'She floated too far and can't find her way back.'

Leo's grandpa's hat suddenly glowed. 'I'll help!' Leo cried, still swimming through the sky. 'Where did she go?'

'Toward the Sunset Mountain,' the bull replied.

Together, Leo and the Cloud Bull went running—well, sky-running—toward the horizon. They found the little cloud, frightened and alone, trapped near a jagged mountain peak. Leo reached out with his hat glowing like a beacon. The little cloud saw its light and floated toward him.

'Thank you,' the Cloud Bull said, nuzzling Leo gently with his soft nose. 'You have a brave heart.'

The bull gave Leo a special gift: a silver cloud-puff that would let him sky-swim whenever he missed his friend. And every evening, Leo wears his magical hat and watches his cloud friends playing in the sunset, knowing that the bravest adventures begin with kindness.
