The Boy Who Ran on Raindrops
Ten-year-old Leo loved nothing more than running through his backyard after a storm. One rainy afternoon, he noticed something strange—a puddle that rippled even though the rain had stopped.
Curious, Leo leaned closer. Suddenly, the water bubbled up and formed the shape of a small boy made entirely of sparkling blue droplets!
"Hello!" said the water boy with a voice like gentle splashing. "I'm Ripple. You're the first human who's ever seen me!"
Leo gasped but didn't run away. "I'm Leo. How are you... made of water?"
"I'm a water spirit!" Ripple grinned. "I've watched you running through the rain so many times. You look so free. I wish I could run like you do."
"But you can!" Leo's eyes lit up. "Come with me!"
To Leo's amazement, Ripple could run on top of puddles without making a splash. The new friend showed Leo something magical—if he ran lightly enough, he too could skim across the surface of water!
Together they spent the afternoon running across every puddle in the neighborhood, racing raindrops down the street, and jumping over tiny streams. Ripple taught Leo that water wasn't just something to splash in—it was alive, it connected everything, and it could carry you anywhere if you respected it.
"You're my best friend," Ripple said as the sun began to set. "But I have to go back to the clouds now. The water cycle calls me!"
"Will I ever see you again?" Leo asked, feeling suddenly sad.
"Every time it rains, look for the puddle that ripples by itself," Ripple winked. "I'll be there, waiting to run with my favorite friend again."
From that day on, Leo never dreaded rainy days. Instead, he'd eagerly wait for the storms, knowing that somewhere in the falling water, his magical friend was returning for another adventure across the raindrops.
