The Boy Who Danced with Bulls

Leo loved his grandpa's old floppy hat. It was blue with patches on the brim, and it made him feel brave. Every morning, Leo would put on the hat and go running through the meadow behind their house.

One sunny morning, Leo was running faster than ever when he heard a strange snorting sound. Behind a big oak tree stood the most enormous bull Leo had ever seen! But this bull wasn't scary—he had rainbow-colored spots and kind brown eyes.

"Hello there," said the bull, whose name was Barnaby. "I've been watching you run. You move like the wind!"

Leo's eyes went wide. "You can talk?"

"Of course!" Barnaby laughed. "And I need your help. The Magic Garden has closed, and only someone truly brave can open it again. Will you come with me?"

Leo nodded, holding his hat tight. Together they walked until they found a gate made of twisted vines. A sign read: EAT SOMETHING GREEN AND PROVE YOU'RE BRAVE.

Leo's stomach grumbled. In his pocket, he found a sandwich his mom had packed—it was stuffed with spinach! "I don't like spinach," Leo wrinkled his nose.

"Sometimes the things we think we don't like are exactly what we need," Barnaby said wisely.

Leo took a tiny bite. Then another. Before he knew it, he had eaten the whole sandwich! Suddenly, the gates swung open, revealing a garden where flowers sang and butterflies left trails of glitter.

"You were brave to try something new," Barnaby said. "That's the real magic."

Leo learned something wonderful that day: being brave doesn't mean you're never scared. It means trying new things even when you're uncertain. And sometimes, like spinach, those new things turn out to be exactly what makes you strong.

Every morning, Leo still went running through the meadow, always wearing his grandpa's hat. But now, he always brought a spinach sandwich—just in case Barnaby came by for another adventure.
