The Boy Who Befriended the Cloud Bull
Leo loved the old stone well at the bottom of his grandmother's garden. Every morning, he'd peek over the edge, watching the deep **water** shimmer like liquid silver in the darkness below.
One Tuesday, something magical happened. As Leo leaned over the stone rim, the water began to bubble and sparkle. Up rose a tiny creature with skin like moonlight and hair that flowed like river reeds.
"I'm Marina," she said, shaking droplets from her fingers. "And you're the first person to ever see me!"
Leo's heart raced with excitement. "I'm Leo. Will you be my **friend**?"
Marina grinned, and her smile made ripples spread across the water's surface. "Friends forever! But Leo, I need your help. Something wonderful and terrible has happened."
She pointed upward. There, tangled in the apple tree branches, was the most magnificent creature Leo had ever seen—a great white **bull** made entirely of clouds, with horns shaped from crescent moons and eyes that held the twinkling of faraway stars.
"That's Orion," Marina whispered. "He's the Cloud Bull who carries dreams to children at night. A storm blew him out of the sky, and now he's stuck!"
The cloud bull lowered his massive head and let out a sound like distant thunder. His cloud-body swirled with gray and white patterns that kept changing shape.
Leo's mind raced. "Maybe if we untangle him, he can float back up!"
But the bull's cloudy horns were twisted tight around the branches. Leo climbed the tree while Marina circled below, casting silver droplets like magic dust. Together they worked—Leo pulling gently, Marina singing a soft melody that made the branches bend.
Finally, with a great WHOOSH of air, the Cloud Bull was free!
Orion dipped his magnificent head to thank them. As he soared upward, he scattered little clouds that looked exactly like tiny bulls. Leo watched them float toward the moon, feeling something warm and wonderful in his chest.
"Because you helped me," Orion's voice rumbled from the sky, "tonight every child will dream of friendship. You've given the whole world a gift."
That night, Leo fell asleep with a smile. In his dreams, he rode on a cloud bull's back, flying through a sky full of new friends and endless possibilities.
And somewhere in the garden, the magic water still shimmered, waiting for the next adventure to begin.
