The Bear with Rainbow Hair

Lily sat by the edge of the pool, dangling her feet in the cool blue water. It was a hot summer day, and she was waiting for her friends to arrive for a swim party. But she was early—too early.

Near the pool's wooden fence, something moved in the tall grass. Lily leaned closer, her iPhone clutched tightly in her hand. Out shuffled a large brown bear.

Lily gasped, but the bear didn't seem scary. His fur was messy and tangled, full of leaves and sticks. He sat with a heavy sigh and looked at his reflection in the pool.

"My hair is always so messy," the bear said softly to himself. "No wonder I don't have any friends."

Lily stood up slowly. "I like your hair," she said.

The bear jumped! "Oh! A human! I—" He started to run away.

"Wait!" Lily called. "I'm Lily. What's your name?"

The bear stopped. "Barnaby. But I should go. Bears don't belong near pools."

"My friends are coming later for a party," Lily said. "Would you like to stay? We can fix your hair!"

Barnaby's eyes widened. "You'd do that? For a bear?"

"Sure! I have brushes and ribbons in my bag. And my iPhone has great tutorials!"

For the next hour, Lily and Barnaby sat by the pool as she gently combed his tangled fur. She showed him funny videos on her iPhone, making the bear laugh for the first time in years. When she finished, Barnaby's hair was soft and shiny, decorated with colorful ribbons.

Suddenly, a magical thing happened. The ribbons began to glow—and so did Barnaby's hair! It turned into beautiful rainbow colors that shimmered in the sunlight.

"Your hair was magic all along!" Lily cried.

Barnaby looked at his reflection and beamed. "It just needed a friend to bring it out."

When Lily's friends arrived, they were amazed—but not scared. Barnaby became the most popular guest at every pool party, and he learned that true friends see the magic in each other.

From then on, the bear with rainbow hair was never lonely again.
