The Bear with Orange Hair
Clementine was no ordinary bear. While other bears had brown or black fur, Clementine had bright orange hair that sparkled in the sunlight like tiny stars.
"Why is your hair so orange?" the other bears would ask. Clementine would just shrug and paw at the ground. Sometimes she wished she could be like everyone else.
One day, while exploring beyond the forest, Clementine spotted something strange. Rising from the golden sand was a shining pyramid, glowing like an enormous orange. She had never seen anything like it!
As she approached the pyramid, a creature appeared. It had the body of a lion and the head of a human—a sphinx!
"Who comes to my pyramid?" the sphinx asked in a voice like gentle wind.
"I'm Clementine," she squeaked. "I'm sorry if I'm bothering you."
The sphinx smiled. "You are not bothering anyone, little bear. I have been waiting for someone special."
Clementine's eyes grew wide. "Special? Me?"
"Yes," said the sphinx. "Your orange hair is not ordinary. It is the color of courage, of creativity, of joy. Only a bear with such special hair could unlock the magic inside this pyramid."
The sphinx touched the pyramid with her paw, and it opened. Inside, Clementine found hundreds of mirrors. Each one showed her doing something wonderful—painting rainbow pictures, dancing with fireflies, helping lost animals find their way home.
"Your orange hair is a gift," the sphinx explained. "It means you bring light and happiness wherever you go."
Clementine's heart swelled with pride. She had never thought of her orange hair as a gift before!
"Thank you," she said, hugging the sphinx. "I'll never be ashamed of who I am again."
When Clementine returned to the forest, she walked with her head high. The other bears still noticed her orange hair, but now Clementine just smiled and said, "It's my special color!"
And whenever someone felt sad or different, Clementine would sit beside them and say, "Being different is the most magical thing of all. Let me tell you about the time I met a sphinx..."
