The Bear with Golden Hair
Lily discovered the pyramid on the Tuesday everything changed.
She was playing in her grandmother's attic when she spotted it—a tiny pyramid made of sparkling crystal, tucked between dusty old books. When she touched it, the pyramid hummed like a singing bowl and suddenly grew big enough to walk inside.
"Hello?" Lily called, stepping through the crystal doorway.
Inside wasn't what she expected. Instead of walls, she found a cozy room with fluffy pillows, a fireplace that burned with rainbow flames, and a small bear sitting on a mushroom-shaped chair.
The bear was the most beautiful thing Lily had ever seen. His fur was soft as clouds, and his hair—the long, flowing hair on his head—shimmered like spun gold in the firelight.
"I've been waiting so long for a friend," the bear said, his voice warm as honey. "I'm Bumble. What's your name?"
"Lily," she whispered, amazed. "But how did you get here? How did I get here?"
Bumble smiled. "The Magic Pyramid appears to lonely children who need adventure. And to bears who've forgotten how to be brave."
He explained that long ago, he'd been too afraid to explore the world outside. So the Magic Pyramid brought him here to wait for a friend who would show him courage wasn't about not being scared—it was about being scared and doing brave things anyway.
"Will you explore with me?" Bumble asked, his golden hair twinkling.
Lily nodded eagerly.
Together they discovered the pyramid's magic doorways—one led to a forest where trees grew candy, another to a beach with singing sand, and another to a mountain made entirely of books.
"I used to be scared of everything," Bumble admitted as they sat under the book-mountain's stars. "But with you, I'm learning that having a friend makes you braver than you could ever be alone."
Lily hugged her new friend tight. "And I learned that adventures are better when shared."
The Magic Pyramid shimmered around them. Lily found herself back in the attic, the tiny crystal pyramid in her hand.
But in her pocket, she found something new—a single golden hair, shimmering with magic.
She smiled, knowing Bumble would always be just one pyramid-touch away.
Some treasures, she realized, weren't meant to be kept. They were meant to be shared with a friend.
And that was the greatest magic of all.
