The Bear Who Wished for Stars
Barnaby was a bear with very big dreams. While other bears dreamed of honey and naps, Barnaby dreamed of the stars. Every night, he'd sit by the edge of the forest pool and watch the sky reflect in the water, wishing he could touch the sparkly lights above.
One magical evening, something extraordinary happened. A tiny orange goldfish named Glimmer popped her head above the water. "Hello there!" she squeaked. "I've been watching you wish on stars for weeks. Why don't you reach for them instead?"
Barnaby sighed. "But I'm just a bear. I'm big and clumsy, and my paws are meant for fishing, not touching stars."
Glimmer swam in a sparkly circle. "That's where you're wrong! My grandmother was a goldfish who once danced with the moon. She told me that anyone with enough heart can do anything. Look at me—I'm smaller than your paw, but I can create ripples that reach across this whole pool!"
Barnaby's eyes grew wide. "Really?"
"Really!" Glimmer did a joyful flip, making tiny silver droplets spray into the air like miniature stars. "Tonight, let's make magic together. When I splash, you catch the drops in your paws. Each drop holds a piece of starlight!"
And so they did. Barnaby reached his big furry paws into the cool pool water, and Glimmer splashed and spun. The water droplets glittered in the moonlight, and for a moment—just a moment—Barnaby felt like he was holding handfuls of tiny stars.
"You did it!" Glimmer cheered. "You touched the stars!"
Barnaby looked at his shimmering paws and smiled the biggest bear smile ever. He learned that night that dreams don't have to be big to be beautiful, and that sometimes the best adventures happen with the smallest friends. And every evening after that, Barnaby and Glimmer would meet by the pool, catching stars together, one splash at a time.
