The Bear Who Solved the Sphinx's Riddle
In a land where clouds were made of cotton candy and rivers flowed with strawberry milk, there lived a friendly bear named Barnaby. Barnaby was no ordinary bear. While most bears spent their days catching fish, Barnaby spent his days hitting a small rubber ball with his favorite padel racket against an old oak tree.
One sunny afternoon, Barnaby's ball bounced over the rainbow bridge and landed at the feet of a magnificent golden sphinx. The sphinx had the body of a lion and the head of a wise eagle, with wings that sparkled like morning dew.
"To get your ball back, you must answer my riddle," the sphinx spoke in a voice like wind chimes. "What has keys but no locks, space but no room, and you can enter but never go inside?"
Barnaby scratched his fuzzy head. He thought about his padel racket, his honey stash, his cozy cave. None of those fit. Then he remembered something his human friend Lucy had shown him — those rectangular things with letters that made clicking sounds when she tapped them!
"A... keyboard?" Barnaby guessed, hoping he was right.
The sphinx smiled, and her golden wings fluttered with delight. "Correct! You may have your ball back, little bear. But also, take this." She pressed a glowing emerald into his paw. "This is the Gem of True Friendship. It glows brightest when you help others."
Barnaby trotted home, clutching his padel racket, his ball, and the magical gem. That evening, when he saw lonely Lucy sitting alone by the stream, the gem pulsed with green light. Barnaby knew what to do. He invited her to play padel, and they laughed until the stars came out.
And so Barnaby learned that the real treasure wasn't the gem at all — it was the joy of sharing what you love with a friend.
