The Bear Who Painted Morning Orange
Barnaby was a very small bear with a very big dream. Every morning, he would climb to the top of the tallest pine tree and watch the sunrise. But Barnaby didn't just watch—he wanted to catch the colors.
One magical morning, Barnaby discovered something extraordinary. An orange butterfly landed on his nose, and suddenly he could see tiny orange sparkles everywhere—in the dewdrops, in the moss, even floating in the air like fairy dust.
"What's this?" Barnaby wondered, reaching out to touch the sparkles. They tickled his paw and made him giggle.
The orange butterfly fluttered its wings. "These are leftover pieces from the sunrise! The Sun drops them every morning. Someone needs to help spread them before they fade away."
Barnaby's eyes grew wide. "Me? But I'm just a little bear. I'm not fast enough."
"You don't have to be fast," the butterfly said. "You just have to start running."
So Barnaby began running through the forest, and with every step, he scattered orange sparkles. They landed on gray stones and made them glow like embers. They touched brown leaves and turned them brilliant gold. They settled on a sleeping rabbit's dreams and made them full of adventure.
Soon, other animals woke up and followed Barnaby. A fox, three squirrels, and even a grumpy badger joined in, all running together, spreading orange magic everywhere they went.
By the time the real sun rose, the whole forest was glowing in shades of amber, tangerine, and coral. The grumpy badger smiled for the first time in years. The fox did a happy dance.
"We did this together," Barnaby said, his heart feeling warm and full. "Even though I'm small, and even though I was scared."
The orange butterfly landed on Barnaby's shoulder again. "That's the real magic, little bear. Courage isn't about being big or fast. It's about starting even when you're afraid, and letting others help you along the way."
From that day on, Barnaby never worried about being small. Every morning, he and his new friends would run through the forest, painting the world orange with friendship, joy, and the courage to begin.
