The Bear Who Made Friends With Lightning

Barnaby was a small bear with very big dreams. Every night, he would climb to the top of Sunny Hill and watch the sky, hoping to see something magical.

One evening, a storm rolled in. Purple lightning flashed across the dark sky, and Barnaby hid under a giant oak tree. That's when he noticed something glowing near the old swimming pool behind the abandoned farmhouse.

Curious, Barnaby crept closer. The pool was empty, but in its center sat a tiny creature holding a glowing orange bottle. It wasn't a monster or a ghost — it was a little squirrel!

"Are you a spy?" Barnaby whispered.

The squirrel jumped. "I'm Penny! And I'm not spying — I'm collecting vitamin drops from this special pool! They only appear during lightning storms!"

Barnaby's eyes grew wide. "Vitamin drops?"

"Yes!" Penny explained. "One drop makes you stronger, two drops make you braver, and three drops make you a true friend to anyone who needs help."

Barnaby thought of his friend Lily, a little rabbit who was too scared to leave her burrow. "Can I have three drops?"

Penny smiled and filled three acorn caps with glowing orange liquid. "But remember," she said, "the magic only works if you use them to help someone else."

The next morning, Barnaby found Lily trembling in the tall grass. "I want to play," she cried, "but I'm afraid."

Barnaby gave her the three vitamin drops from the magical pool. Slowly, Lily stood up straighter. She looked around and smiled. Then she hopped forward, then ran, then danced!

"I'm not scared anymore!" Lily cheered. "Thank you, Barnaby!"

Barnaby felt warm inside, warmer than any sunshine could make him. He realized the real magic wasn't in the drops at all — it was in helping a friend.

Now Barnaby and Penny and Lily play together every day. And sometimes, during lightning storms, they all collect vitamin drops from the glowing pool, ready to help anyone who needs a friend.
