The Bear Who Loved the Palm Pool

Lily skipped across the warm stones to her grandmother's swimming pool, her favorite place in the whole world. The giant palm tree towered above the water, its long green fronds dancing in the summer breeze like friendly fingers waving hello.

Lily had just jumped into the cool blue water when she saw something strange. At the edge of the pool sat a small brown bear, holding an iPhone in his fuzzy paws. He was tapping the screen with his nose!

"Hello there!" Lily called, swimming closer. The bear looked up with twinkling black eyes.

"Oh thank goodness," the bear said in a rumbly, friendly voice. "I'm trying to find my way back to the Magic Forest, but this glowing rectangle keeps showing me maps of the wrong place."

Lily giggled and climbed out of the pool. "That's my iPhone! I can help you. Where's the Magic Forest?"

The bear explained he had followed a butterfly through a secret door hidden behind the palm tree and gotten lost. His name was Bruno, and he was actually a magical bear who could talk.

Lily's grandmother came outside with lemonade. When Bruno waved his paw, the lemonade glasses began to dance! "Magic!" she clapped. "You must be from the Enchanted Grove beyond our garden."

Grandmother showed Bruno how to use the iPhone properly, typing "Enchanted Grove" into the maps. A glowing path appeared on the screen, winding through the garden behind the palm tree.

Bruno thanked them with a special gift—he made the pool water sparkle like diamonds for exactly one minute every sunset. "So you'll always remember me," he whispered.

Every evening since, Lily and her grandmother watch the pool shimmer with magic light, and sometimes, if they look closely behind the palm tree, they can see a little brown bear waving hello with his iPhone held high.
