The Bear Who Loved Spinach
In a cozy cottage at the edge of the Whispering Woods lived a girl named Lily, her stuffed bear Barnaby, and her magical garden. The most special plant in her garden was the glowing spinach, which sparkled like tiny green stars in the moonlight.
One evening, as Lily was harvesting some spinach for dinner, she heard a strange thumping sound coming from the woods. Barnaby, her teddy bear, sat on the garden fence and seemed to be watching something.
"What is it, Barnaby?" Lily asked, picking up her bear.
Suddenly, a REAL bear emerged from the trees! But this bear looked different—his fur was messy and matted, and he walked very slowly, like he was half-asleep. He shuffled toward Lily's garden, making a low moaning sound.
Lily gasped. "Is that... is that a zombie bear?!"
The bear flopped down near her spinach patch and gave a sad sigh. Lily noticed his fur was covered in sticky burrs and mud. He wasn't a zombie at all—he was just a very tired, very messy bear who needed help!
"Oh, you poor thing!" Lily cried. She quickly picked some fresh spinach from her garden. "Here, try this! My magical spinach will help you feel better."
The bear sniffed the glowing green leaves, then gobbled them up. Suddenly, his eyes widened, and he stood up tall! The burrs fell from his fur, and he began to dance around the garden.
"Want to play padel?" Lily asked, pointing to her mini racquet and ball set.
The bear clapped his paws happily! They played padel until sunset, the bear batting the ball with his nose while Lily swung her racquet. They laughed as the spinach glowed brighter with every hit.
From that day on, the bear—whom Lily named Boris—visited every evening for spinach and padel. And Barnaby? He became the official referee, sitting on the fence with a tiny flag Lily had made for him.
Lily learned that sometimes things that seem scary are just friends who need a little help—and a little magical spinach can go a long way!
