The Bear Who Loved Lightning
Barnaby was a small brown bear with a very big problem. He was terrified of lightning. Every time the sky flashed, he would hide under his bed and shake.
One stormy afternoon, Barnaby found something strange in the forest — a shiny golden cable that seemed to glow from within. When he touched it, the cable hummed with warm energy.
"Hello there!" said a cheerful voice. Barnaby looked around until he saw a tiny girl with butterfly wings hovering near the cable. "I'm Luna! That's my magic lightning cable. It connects the sky to the earth!"
Barnaby's eyes grew wide. "But lightning is scary!"
Luna giggled. "Oh no, it's wonderful! Lightning helps the spinach in my garden grow tall and strong. Want to see?"
She tugged the cable, and little sparks danced along it like happy fireflies. They followed her to a hidden garden where glowing green spinach leaves reached toward the sky.
"Watch this!" Luna said. She pointed the cable upward, and when lightning flashed, the cable caught its light and sprinkled it over the garden like magical dust. The spinach shimmered and grew even taller!
Suddenly, a baby rabbit was caught in the storm, shivering near a tree. Barnaby knew what he had to do. He grabbed the cable, held it toward the sky, and called the lightning down. But instead of being scary, the lightning flowed through the cable like a warm, golden river. It wrapped around the rabbit like a blanket, warming and protecting it.
"You did it!" Luna cheered. "You faced your fear to help someone. That's what makes a true friend."
From that day on, Barnaby was never afraid of lightning again. He kept his magic cable close, ready to help any creature in need. And sometimes, on stormy nights, you can still see him in the forest — a brave little bear standing tall, catching lightning to help his friends, with a garden full of magical spinach glowing nearby.
The moral: Bravery isn't about not being scared. It's about doing the right thing even when you are.
