The Bear Who Found the Best Vitamin

Barnaby was a small bear with fluffy brown fur and a very big problem. He lived alone in the cozy hollow of an ancient oak tree, and every morning he woke up feeling tired and grumpy. His mother had always told him to eat his berries and fish, but even after the biggest meals, Barnaby still felt something was missing.

One sunny morning, Barnaby waddled to the forest stream for a drink. There he met Lily—a rabbit with the longest ears he'd ever seen—skipping stones across the water. The stone hopped three times before disappearing with a *plop*.

"You're really good at that!" Barnaby said, his eyes wide with wonder.

Lily smiled. "Want to try?"

For the next hour, the bear and the rabbit skipped stones together. Barnaby's tummy hurt from laughing so hard, but something strange happened—he didn't feel tired anymore. He felt light and sparkly, like sunshine was bubbling up inside his chest.

The next day, Barnaby met Oliver, a wise old owl who knew all the secret paths through the forest. Oliver showed Barnaby where the sweetest honey grew and how to follow the moon's light. Again, that bubbly sunshine feeling filled Barnaby up.

Day after day, Barnaby made new friends—Squeaky the squirrel, Rosie the deer, even little Tumble the hedgehog. They explored together, played together, and shared their secrets. And every time, Barnaby felt stronger and happier.

One evening, as Barnaby watched the sunset paint the sky pink and gold, he realized something magical. He hadn't felt tired or grumpy for weeks. The berries and fish were good, but they weren't what he really needed.

"What's this wonderful feeling?" Barnaby asked Oliver, who perched on a nearby branch.

The owl blinked his golden eyes wisely. "That, my dear bear, is the most powerful vitamin of all—the friendship vitamin. It makes your heart strong, your spirit light, and your days full of adventure."

Barnaby smiled so big his nose wrinkled. He had discovered the best secret in the whole forest: friendship is the vitamin that makes everything better.
