The Bear Who Forgot to Be Brave
Padel was a curious boy who lived at the bottom of Misty Mountain. Every day, he watched the old cable car climb up through the clouds, wondering what magical things waited at the top. But nobody had ridden it for years. The rusty cable creaked and groaned in the wind like it was telling secrets to the trees.
One sunny morning, something amazing happened. A friendly brown bear stumbled out of the forest, moving slowly and strangely, almost like a sleepy zombie from Padel's storybooks. The bear's eyes were half-closed, and he walked with a wobbling, trance-like shuffle.
"Hello, Mr. Bear!" Padel called out bravely. "Are you okay?"
The bear blinked and yawned. "Oh dear," he rumbled softly. "I think I've forgotten how to be a bear. I've been in such a deep, magical sleep that I feel like a zombie—all fuzzy and slow."
Padel's eyes widened with wonder. A zombie bear! How magical! "Maybe you need an adventure to wake up properly!"
The bear nodded slowly. "I think you're right, little friend."
Together, they climbed into the cable car. With a gentle creak, it lifted them up, up, up through the clouds! At the top, they found a meadow filled with sparkling flowers that sang when the wind blew. Padel showed the bear how to splash in a rainbow stream, how to climb an apple tree, and how to dance in circles until they were both dizzy with giggles.
By the time they rode back down, the bear wasn't zombie-like anymore. His eyes sparkled, he bounced with energy, and he roared with happiness.
"Thank you, Padel!" the bear cheered. "You helped me remember that sometimes we just need a friend and an adventure to feel alive again."
From that day on, the bear and Padel were best friends, having many more adventures together. And Padel learned that even when someone seems slow or zombie-tired, a little kindness and friendship can wake up the magic inside them.
