The Bear Who Dreamed of Padel
In the enchanted village of Starfall Valley, children played padel every afternoon at the magical court beside the Whispering Woods. The ball would glow with every hit, leaving trails of sparkles in the air.
Young Mia loved padel more than anything. But lately, something strange had been happening. At night, villagers whispered about a zombie spotted near the court.
"It walks slowly," said old Mr. Pine. "Its arms stick out stiff and straight. It stumbles toward the padel court under moonlight."
Mia's brother Leo giggled. "Maybe it's a zombie who loves sports!"
Mia wasn't so sure. That night, she hid behind the old oak tree near the padel court, her magical lantern dimmed low.
Footsteps crunched. TWIG SNAP. Mia held her breath.
A shadowy figure emerged from the forest, arms stiff, walking in a daze. It approached the padel court, picked up a glowing ball with clumsy paws, and...
Started hitting it against the wall?
Mia gasped. The "zombie" was actually Bruno, the huge brown bear from the forest! But he looked enchanted—eyes glazed, movements jerky, like he was sleepwalking under a spell.
"Bruno?" Mia called softly.
The bear blinked, shaking his head. The zombie-like fog lifted from his eyes. "Mia? I... I don't know how I got here."
Every night, Bruno had been sleepwalking to the padel court, enchanted by his secret wish to play with the children. He'd been too shy to ask.
"We thought you were a zombie!" Mia laughed. "Bruno, you don't have to be enchanted to play. You just have to ask."
The next afternoon, Bruno stood at the padel court, nervous but hopeful. The children cheered. And when Bruno hit his first shot—a perfect smash that lit up the whole sky—the magical ball whispered:
*Sometimes the scariest things are just wishes waiting to be invited in.*
That night, no zombie was spotted. Just a happy bear, sleeping peacefully with his new padel racquet tucked beside him, dreaming of tomorrow's game.
