The Bear Who Drank Starlight

Barnaby was a small bear with very big ears. He lived in a cozy cave near the sparkling river where the water danced over smooth stones all day long. But Barnaby had a secret. He was afraid of storms.

One evening, dark clouds gathered above the forest. Thunder rumbled like a giant's tummy. Barnaby trembled in his cave, covering his eyes with his paws. Then he saw something amazing—a tiny glowing bird sitting on a branch just outside, watching the sky with delight.

"Why aren't you hiding?" Barnaby asked, peeking out.

"Because the best magic happens now!" chirped the bird, whose name was Lumi. "Watch the water!"

A brilliant bolt of lightning flashed across the sky, illuminating the whole forest. For just a moment, the raindrops looked like tiny diamonds falling from heaven. When the lightning struck the river below, the water shimmered with an otherworldly glow.

"The lightning charges the water with starlight," Lumi explained. "Bears who drink from the river after a storm grow brave in their hearts."

Barnaby's eyes grew wide. He crept to the riverbank and took a small sip. The water tingled on his tongue, warm and sweet like honey. Suddenly, he didn't feel afraid anymore. He felt... magical.

"Thank you, Lumi!" Barnaby exclaimed. "Will you be my friend?"

"Always," the glowing bird promised.

From that day on, Barnaby never feared storms. Instead, he would sit by the water with Lumi, watching for lightning and collecting starlight. And whenever other animals were scared, brave Barnaby would share his enchanted water with them, teaching them that even scary things can hold wonderful surprises.

The end.
