The Bear Who Discovered Sunshine Fruit

Barnaby was a bear who loved water more than honey. While other bears napped in sunny meadows, Barnaby spent his days swimming in the crystal-clear lake behind his mountain home. He could hold his breath longer than any fish and dive deeper than any frog.

One sunny afternoon, something strange floated past Barnaby's nose while he was swimming. It was round and bright—the color of sunset, the color of marigolds, the color of pure happiness.

"What are you?" Barnaby asked, surfacing with a splash.

"I'm an orange," said the cheerful fruit. "And I've traveled all the way from the valley below!"

Barnaby had never seen anything like it. The orange told him wonderful stories about orchards filled with trees that grew sunshine-colored treats all year long.

"But why should I care about oranges?" Barnaby asked. "I have plenty of fish and berries."

The orange wobbled. "Because inside me is something magical—a secret ingredient called vitamin C! It helps bears stay strong, keeps their fur shiny, and makes their smiles even bigger."

Barnaby's eyes grew wide. "A magic ingredient?"

"Not just magic," said the orange. "Every time you share an orange with a friend, you're sharing health and happiness too!"

So Barnaby carried the orange back to his cave, where his friends were waiting. He didn't eat it alone. Instead, he shared sections with everyone. The bear who usually swam solo discovered that some things taste better when shared.

From that day on, Barnaby still loved swimming alone in his lake. But afterwards, he would always climb to the valley orchard, collect armfuls of oranges, and bring them back to share.

And the bear who once thought fish were the best treasure learned that the sweetest discoveries are the ones that bring friends together.
