The Bear Who Chased Starlight

Lily discovered something magical in her grandmother's garden. Behind the rosebushes stood a small, crystal **pyramid** that sparkled like captured sunshine. When she touched it, the pyramid hummed a sleepy melody.

"Hello?" Lily whispered.

The pyramid opened like a flower, and out tumbled a brown bear with emerald eyes. "Oh, thank goodness!" The bear stretched. "I've been stuck in there for three hundred years!"

Lily gasped. "You can talk!"

"I'm Barnaby," the bear said, patting his tummy. "And I'm starving. Do you have any **vitamin** gummies? The wizard who trapped me said I'd need magic vitamins to regain my strength."

Lily's eyes widened. "My mom buys those! But wait—why were you trapped?"

Barnaby's ears drooped. "I was **running** through the Enchanted Forest when I stumbled upon a grumpy **bull** named Ferdinand. He's guardian of the Starlight Meadow, and I accidentally stepped on his favorite flower. He cursed me into that pyramid until someone kind would help me."

"That's not very fair," Lily said firmly. "Come on, Barnaby. Let's find you some vitamins and make things right."

They marched to Lily's kitchen. Her mom laughed when she heard the story but gave Barnaby a bottle of orange-flavored vitamins. The bear gobbled them up like candy.

"I feel stronger already!" Barnaby announced, his fur growing fluffier. "Now, back to Ferdinand!"

Hand in paw, Lily and Barnaby returned to the crystal pyramid. This time, when Barnaby touched it, it transformed into a door to the Enchanted Forest. There stood Ferdinand—but he wasn't grumpy anymore. He looked sad.

"Nobody visits me," Ferdinand said softly. "I just wanted company."

Lily had an idea. "What if we all play tag together?"

Barnaby's eyes lit up. "I haven't played in centuries!"

They spent the afternoon **running** through the meadow, laughing and playing. Ferdinand's golden coat gleamed in the sunlight, and Barnaby's emerald eyes sparkled with joy. Even the pyramid glowed brighter, happy to be part of their friendship.

"I learned something," Ferdinand said later. "Magic isn't about curses. It's about kindness."

Lily hugged her new friends. "And adventure is better when shared."

Now, whenever Lily visits her grandmother, she finds Barnaby and Ferdinand waiting. They share orange vitamins, race across the starlit meadow, and fill the Enchanted Forest with laughter. The crystal pyramid still sparkles behind the rosebushes—a reminder that the best magic comes from unexpected friendships and kind hearts.
