The Bear Who Chased Lightning
Barnaby was a small bear with very big dreams. Every night, he would watch storms roll over the mountain, fascinated by the dancing bolts of lightning that cracked across the sky like glowing whips.
"I wish I could catch one," Barnaby sighed, his orange fur shimmering in the moonlight. The other bears laughed. "Lightning is too fast for anyone," they said.
One rainy afternoon, Barnaby discovered something strange near the old oak tree—a shiny orange padel racquet left by some hikers. It hummed with energy when he touched it. To his surprise, tiny sparks of lightning danced between its strings!
A sudden storm swept through the valley. Barnaby spotted a baby bird blown from her nest, tumbling toward the rushing river below. Without thinking, Barnaby grabbed the magical racquet and rushed forward.
A bolt of lightning struck the racquet—but instead of hurting Barnaby, the orange weapon absorbed the energy and glowed brighter than sunshine. With all his might, he swung the racquet toward a sturdy branch. A beam of pure light shot out, wrapping around the bird like a glowing rope, gently lifting her to safety.
The lightning-energy racquet had given Barnaby the power to help! From that day on, whenever storms came, Barnaby stood ready—not to chase lightning for himself, but to use its power to protect others who needed help.
The other bears never laughed again. They had learned that even the smallest, orange-est bear could do the biggest things with courage and a kind heart.
