The Bear Who Caught Sunset
The bear was different from all the other bears in the forest. While they slept through the golden-orange sunsets, little Barnaby was always wide awake, his nose twitching with wonder.
"Where does the orange go when the sun sets?" Barnaby would ask his mother, but she would only yawn and nudge him toward his cozy den.
One evening, as the sky turned the most brilliant shade of tangerine, Barnaby saw something incredible—a tiny orange fox, running so fast she looked like a streak of sunset come to life.
"Wait!" Barnaby called, and without thinking, he started running too.
The fox stopped. Her name was Sunny, and she was the Guardian of Orange—the magical color that brings joy to the world. "Every sunset," she explained, "I have to gather all the orange from the sky before it disappears forever. But tonight I'm too slow!"
Barnaby's eyes grew wide. "I can help!"
And so, the bear and the fox began running together across the meadow, catching pockets of orange light in their paws. Barnaby collected the warm orange from the flowers, while Sunny gathered the glowing orange from the clouds above.
As they worked, Barnaby realized something wonderful. The orange wasn't just a color—it was happiness, warmth, and friendship all mixed together.
"We did it!" Sunny cheered as they saved the last bits of orange. "You're the best running partner ever, Barnaby."
From that day on, Barnaby wasn't just a sleepy bear. Every evening, when the sky turned orange, he could be found running with Sunny, collecting joy and storing it in his heart. And whenever anyone in the forest felt sad or lonely, Barnaby would share a little bit of his special orange magic with them.
Because Barnaby learned that the best adventures are the ones you share with friends, and that sometimes, the most magical things are hiding right where you are—you just have to start running to find them.
