The Bear Who Caught Lightning
Timmy loved baseball more than anything. Every Saturday, he and his friends played in the meadow behind his house. But one cloudy afternoon, the sky turned dark gray.
"We should go home," said Mia, dropping her bat.
CRACK! A bolt of lightning split the sky.
The children dove under the old oak tree. Then the most amazing thing happened. Out from behind the tree stepped the biggest, fluffiest bear they had ever seen. But this wasn't a scary bear. He wore a faded baseball cap on his head!
"Don't be afraid," the bear rumbled gently. "I'm Barnaby, and I've been watching your games for weeks. I love baseball!"
Timmy's eyes widened. "You can talk?"
"Magical bears can do many things," Barnaby winked. "Watch this!"
He reached up with his giant paw and caught another lightning bolt. Instead of burning him, the crackling energy transformed into sparkling diamond dust. Barnaby tossed it into the air, and suddenly a beautiful swimming pool appeared—floating right in the sky!
"Who wants to go swimming?" Barnaby asked.
The children gasped. The pool was filled with rainbow water that sparkled like stars. Timmy jumped in first, splashing into the warm, magical water. His friends followed, laughing as they discovered the pool was filled with floating baseballs that turned into marshmallows when you caught them!
"Every storm brings something wonderful," Barnaby said, floating on his back like a giant furry boat. "You just have to be brave enough to find it."
They played and swam until the storm passed. When the sun came out, the magical pool faded away, but Barnaby remained.
"Will we see you again?" Timmy asked.
Barnaby tapped Timmy's baseball glove. "Whenever the lightning dances, look for me under this tree. And remember—courage comes in many forms, even a fluffy bear who loves baseball!"
From that day on, Timmy and his friends never feared storms. Instead, they watched the sky with wonder, knowing that somewhere, a magical bear was ready to turn a scary moment into the most wonderful adventure.
