The Bear Who Caught Lightning

Lila loved the edge of the forest where the palm trees swayed like green dancers. Every afternoon, she'd sit beneath her favorite tree, listening to the leaves whisper secrets in the wind.

One day, something extraordinary happened. A real bear emerged from the shadows—but not a scary bear. This bear had fur the color of honey and eyes that sparkled like morning dew.

"Hello there," Lila whispered, her heart fluttering like a trapped butterfly.

The bear nodded. "I've been waiting for you. I'm Bramble."

Bramble could talk! Lila's eyes went wide. "You can speak?"

"Only to special friends," Bramble said with a gentle smile. "Would you like to see something magical?"

As if on cue, storm clouds gathered overhead. The sky darkened, and suddenly—a flash of lightning streaked across the heavens!

Lila gasped. But instead of running away, Bramble raised his palm upward. The bolt of lightning zizzed and zoomed toward his open paw, then curled around it like a glowing golden ribbon.

"Lightning carries messages from the sky," Bramble explained. "Would you like to hear one?"

He gently placed his palm beside Lila's ear, and she heard the crackle-sparkle of words: "Be brave, small one. Your kindness is your greatest strength."

Lila's eyes filled with happy tears. That night, as she drifted to sleep, she understood something wonderful: true friends come in all shapes and sizes, and magic exists for those who believe.

From then on, every time lightning flashed, Lila would press her palm against her window and smile—knowing her friend Bramble was catching another message just for her.
