The Bear Who Bounced Lightning
Barnaby was no ordinary bear. Every afternoon, he'd waddle to the sunny clearing where an old padel court lay covered in vines. He'd found a racquet once, left by campers years ago, and taught himself to play. Swish! Bap! He'd hit papayas across the net, practicing alone.
One stormy evening, as lightning crackled across purple clouds, Barnaby noticed something strange. The papayas growing near the court glowed golden! When lightning struck nearby, the fruit pulsed with light. Curious, Barnaby took a bite—and ZAP! He felt tingles from his nose to his toes.
Suddenly, he could see in the dark! His paws sparkled! That's when he heard tiny voices crying for help. Little mice were trapped in a cave, and the path was too dark to find.
Barnaby grabbed his padel racquet. When lightning flashed, he swung at it—BOING! The lightning bolt bounced off his racquet like a glowing ball, lighting up the forest path. He became a secret spy for the forest animals, using his lightning-bouncing racquet to rescue anyone lost in storms.
"Thank you, Barnaby!" squeaked the mice, sharing their honey with him.
Word spread. Foxes, rabbits, even shy deer came to watch the bear who played with storms. Children visiting the forest would spot glowing paw prints leading to safety. But nobody knew how—or why—Barnaby did it.
"Why help strangers?" asked a grumpy old badger.
Barnaby smiled, tapping his magical papaya tree. "Because the lightning showed me something. Every flash is brief, but together? We can light up the whole forest."
And that's how the bear learned that true power isn't about strength or size—it's about how you help others shine.
