The Bear Who Ate Lightning

In a cozy cave deep in Whispering Woods lived a young bear named Nimbus. But Nimbus wasn't like other bears. His fur had streaks of bright silver that looked like tiny bolts of lightning, and his hair on top stood up in tufts that crackled with static whenever he got excited.

"Why can't I be normal?" Nimbus sighed, watching his reflection in a stream. The other bears made fun of his unusual fur, calling him Sparky instead of Nimbus.

One stormy afternoon, while all the other bears hid in their dens, Nimbus wandered into a secret garden he'd never noticed before. Lightning flashed across the sky, and in that brief illumination, he saw something amazing — a patch of emerald-green spinach that glowed with its own light!

Curious and hungry, Nimbus took a bite. CRUNCH! The spinach tasted like sunshine and rainbows mixed together. Suddenly, something magical happened. The lightning streaks on his fur began to glow brighter than ever, and Nimbus felt a warm tingling all over his body.

He heard a small voice — a baby rabbit was trapped near a rushing stream, the water rising higher with every raindrop. Without thinking, Nimbus rushed forward. To his surprise, he could run faster than ever before! His lightning fur seemed to pull him toward the rabbit like a magnet.

Nimbus reached the rabbit just in time, lifting it to safety with his strong paws. Then he heard another cry — a family of squirrels was stranded in an old oak tree as lightning struck nearby.

Again and again, Nimbus used his magical speed and his glowing fur to guide animals to safety through the storm. When morning finally came, the whole forest gathered around him.

"Thank you, Sparky!" cheered the rabbits, squirrels, and birds.

"My name is Nimbus," he said proudly, "and I like my lightning fur."

From that day on, whenever Nimbus felt unsure about being different, he remembered the stormy night when his unique fur had saved the day. And sometimes, just sometimes, he'd sneak back to that secret garden for another bite of magical spinach — just in case adventure came calling again.
