The Bear's Pyramid Promise

One sunny morning, Benny the bear woke up with a rumbly tummy. He stretched his big fuzzy paws and wandered into the forest, looking for breakfast.

Behind a cluster of berry bushes, Benny spotted something amazing. It wasn't a rock or a tree—it was a tiny golden pyramid, no bigger than a honey pot. It sparkled in the sunlight like captured sunshine.

Benny poked the pyramid with his nose. *Clink!* Suddenly, the pyramid popped open like a treasure chest, and out tumbled a little green figure.

"Grrr... arrgh..." the figure moaned, shuffling slowly.

Benny jumped back. "A zombie!" he gasped. But then he looked closer. The zombie wasn't scary at all. She was a tiny zombie girl with messy hair and a crooked smile, and she looked just as surprised as Benny.

"I'm Zara," she squeaked. "I've been stuck in that pyramid for three hundred years!"

Benny's heart went out to her. "I'm Benny. Are you hungry?"

Zara's tummy grumbled louder than Benny's had. "Very."

Benny knew exactly what to do. He climbed the tallest papaya tree in the forest and picked the ripest, orangest papaya he could find. He carried it down carefully and sliced it open with his claws.

"This is the best breakfast in the whole forest," Benny said, sharing the sweet, juicy papaya with Zara.

Zara took a bite and her eyes lit up. "It's magical!"

As they ate, Benny had an idea. "What if we build a new pyramid together? Not one that traps people, but one that brings friends together?"

All afternoon, they worked side by side. They built a pyramid out of smooth stones, colorful leaves, and flowers. When the sun began to set, other forest animals came to see—a rabbit, two squirrels, and a family of deer. They all shared papayas and listened as Zara told stories from long ago.

Benny learned something wonderful that day: sometimes the scariest surprises turn out to be the best friends. And the best adventures are the ones you share.

The papaya pyramid still stands in the forest today, where anyone who's hungry or lonely can find a friend and a feast.
