The Bear's Midnight Game

zombiegoldfishbearpadel

Lily's goldfish, Sparkle, hadn't moved in three days. Her mom said it was just sleeping, but Lily knew better—it was definitely a zombie goldfish. Not the scary kind from movies, but the quiet, floating kind that made her worry every time she looked at the bowl.

That night, Lily whispered, "Please wake up, Sparkle."

She curled around her fluffy brown bear, Mr. Cuddles, and fell asleep with tears on her cheeks.

But something magical happened at midnight.

"Lily!" a voice whispered.

She rubbed her eyes. Mr. Cuddles was standing on her bed, holding her hand!

"Come!" the bear said. "Sparkle needs us."

They floated out the window, following a trail of sparkling stars that led to an enchanted forest. There, by a moonlit pond, stood a magical padel court made of crystal and moonbeams. Two fairy rabbits were already there, holding glittering padel rackets.

"The Midnight Game!" Mr. Cuddles explained. "Whoever wins gets one wish."

Lily's heart raced. She grabbed a glowing racket.

"For Sparkle!" she shouted.

The game began. A ball made of stardust bounced back and forth. Lily wasn't very good at sports, but tonight she moved like she was flying. Mr. Cuddles cheered from the sidelines, his fuzzy paws clapping.

When Lily hit the winning shot, golden lights exploded everywhere!

"Your wish!" the fairy rabbits chimed together.

"I wish Sparkle would swim and play again!"

Back in her room, Sparkle was zipping around his bowl, creating tiny bubbles that spelled "THANK YOU!"

Mr. Cuddles winked and became a regular teddy bear again.

Lily hugged him tight. Sometimes, the best adventures happen with old friends, and the bravest wishes come from the biggest heart.
