The Bear's Magical Baseball Pool

Lily loved her backyard pool. It was small and blue, perfect for hot summer days. But today, as she floated on her back, something magical happened.

A tiny goldfish with shimmering orange scales popped its head above the water.

"Hello!" said the goldfish. "I'm Finn! Would you like to play baseball with my friend?"

Lily rubbed her eyes. Goldfish didn't talk! But Finn was real, and he was smiling.

"Where?" Lily asked.

Finn flicked his tail, and suddenly the pool water began to sparkle like liquid diamonds. The water swirled upward, forming a shimmering doorway. Lily stepped through—and gasped.

She was standing on the softest green field she had ever seen. Clouds floated within reach, and the sky was painted in colors of pink and gold.

"Welcome!" A huge brown bear trotted over, holding a baseball bat. "I'm Barnaby! Want to play?"

Lily had never played baseball with a bear before. "But I'm not very good," she said softly.

Barnaby's warm brown eyes twinkled. "Neither am I! That's why we practice together. Finn pitches, I hit, and we cheer for every try!"

Finn hopped out of a magical puddle and transformed into the perfect size. He tossed an orange ball toward Lily.

"Just swing and have fun!" Finn called.

Lily swung—and missed. She tried again. Missed. But Barnaby clapped his giant paws. "Wonderful effort! Your form is getting better!"

On her fourth try, *crack!* The orange ball sailed through the pink sky. Lily ran around the bases, laughing as Barnaby and Finn cheered.

"You did it!" Barnaby hugged her gently. "The magic isn't being perfect. The magic is trying new things with friends who believe in you!"

As the sun began to set, Finn led Lily back through the sparkling water. She found herself back in her own pool, clutching something in her hand—a tiny orange baseball, glowing with magic.

Lily smiled, diving into the cool water. She couldn't wait for tomorrow's game.
