The Bear's Magic iPhone
Lily loved exploring the forest behind her house. One sunny afternoon, she was practicing baseball when—THWACK!—the ball sailed deep into the woods.
"I'll find it!" Lily declared, grabbing her favorite glove. But as she stepped beneath the tall trees, something sparkled on a mossy rock. It wasn't her baseball. It was an iPhone, glowing with rainbow lights!
"Hello?" Lily whispered, picking it up. The screen didn't show apps or games. Instead, it displayed a tiny map with a moving dot.
*Follow me,* appeared in sparkly letters.
Lily followed the path deeper into the forest until she reached a peaceful clearing. There, sitting on a log, was a large brown bear with the gentlest eyes she'd ever seen.
"You found my phone!" the bear said, his voice warm like honey tea. "I'm Barnaby."
Lily gasped. "Bears don't have phones!"
Barnaby chuckled. "Magic bears do. It helps me find lonely children who need a friend."
Lily's eyes widened. "How did you know?"
Barnaby pointed to the iPhone. "It showed me you were practicing baseball all alone. Everyone deserves someone to play with."
For the next hour, they played the most wonderful game of baseball ever. Barnaby used a fallen branch as a bat, and the iPhone helped call fair or foul with cheerful beeps. When Lily's baseball finally appeared (a squirrel had been hiding it), Barnaby hit it so high it brushed the clouds!
"The secret," Barnaby said as the sun began to set, "is that magic phones and baseball games are nothing compared to having a friend who believes in you."
Lily hugged Barnaby goodbye. "Will I see you again?"
The iPhone in her hand blinked once. *Anytime,* it sparkled.
Lily skipped home, her baseball under her arm and her heart full of magic. Some friends, she realized, come in the most unexpected packages—even furry, magical ones who love baseball as much as she did.
