The Bear's Magic Cable

Lily loved visiting her grandmother's cottage in the mountains. Every day, she would peek out the window at the old cable car that traveled across the valley. The cable was thick and shiny, glimmering in the sunlight like a silver thread stitched across the sky.

One afternoon, Lily noticed a brown bear sitting by the cable car station. His fur was tangled and full of burrs, and he looked very sad. Lily's grandmother said the bear's name was Bruno, and he needed help getting to the other side of the mountain to find his family.

"The cable car can help!" Lily said bravely. She gathered her courage and approached Bruno. The bear had kind, gentle eyes. He let Lily carefully brush the burrs from his hair with her grandmother's comb. Bruno rumbled happily, like a warm purr.

Together, they climbed into the cable car. As they soared across the valley, Lily saw something strange below them. A small zombie was wandering in the forest! But instead of being scary, the zombie looked lonely and lost. Its green skin was covered in soft moss, and flowers grew from its pockets.

"Bruno, look!" Lily pointed. The bear nodded and growled softly. They stopped the cable car nearby and discovered the zombie was just looking for friends. Its name was Zee, and it was the kindest zombie in the forest.

Bruno invited Zee to join them. The three new friends continued their journey, sharing stories and laughs. Zee showed them beautiful hidden paths, Bruno protected them from scary noises, and Lily shared her grandmother's cookies.

When they reached the other side, Bruno found his family waiting. They thanked Lily and Zee with warm bear hugs. The zombie had found friends, the bear had found his family, and Lily had learned that sometimes the scariest-looking creatures just need someone to see their true, kind hearts.

From that day on, Lily, Bruno, and Zee took the magical cable car together every summer, proving that friendship comes in all shapes, sizes, and colors—even green and mossy ones.
