The Bear's Golden Hair

Lily found the old iphone in her grandmother's wooden chest. It shimmered like captured moonlight, even though it had no battery. When Lily touched the screen, it didn't turn on — instead, it pulled her right inside!

She landed in a forest where trees were made of cotton candy and streams flowed with strawberry milk. There she met Barnaby, a gentle brown bear with the kindest eyes Lily had ever seen. But Barnaby was sad. His beautiful golden hair, which sparkled like sunshine, had been stolen by the jealous North Wind.

"Without my hair," Barnaby said, "I can't light up the forest at night. The little animals are scared of the dark."

Lily's magical iphone glowed and showed them the path to the Wind's mountain castle. Together they climbed past clouds that tasted like vanilla ice cream. At the top, they found the North Wind spinning around and around, trapping all the golden hair in a tornado.

"Give it back!" Lily said bravely.

The Wind laughed. "Why should I?"

"Because," Lily said, "sharing beauty makes it grow. Keeping it all for yourself just makes you lonely."

The Wind stopped spinning. He had never thought about it that way. He gently released the golden hair, which floated down like warm sunshine. Barnaby caught it, and as it touched him, his hair grew back — longer and more beautiful than before.

That night, Barnaby's golden hair lit up the whole forest. All the animals danced and celebrated. Lily's iphone showed something wonderful: a picture of her and Barnaby, new best friends, under the golden glow.

When Lily returned home, the old iphone was just an ordinary phone again. But sometimes, late at night, she could still smell strawberry milk and cotton candy, and she knew her friend was out there, lighting up the darkness for everyone.
