The Bear's Glowing Orange Friend

Barnaby was a small brown bear who lived beside the sparkling Blue River. Every day, he watched the water dance over smooth stones, but he never touched it. "Water is scary," he told himself. "Bears don't swim."

One warm afternoon, something bright rolled through the tall grass. Barnaby followed it with his curious eyes. It was round and orange, glowing like a tiny sun captured on the ground.

The orange stopped right at the river's edge. Barnaby approached slowly. He had never seen anything so beautiful. "Hello there," he whispered.

A tiny voice answered, "Hello! I'm Clementine!" The orange wiggled happily. "I've rolled all the way from the orchard to see the famous Blue River!"

Barnaby gasped. "You can talk?"

"Magical oranges can do many things," Clementine said proudly. Then she tumbled forward—*splash!*—into the water. "Oh no!" she cried. "I can't swim!"

The water carried Clementine away. Barnaby's heart raced. Without thinking, he rushed to the edge. The water looked deep and scary. But Clementine needed help!

Barnaby took a deep breath and stepped into the cool water. It wasn't scary at all! It felt like a gentle hug. He paddled deeper and grabbed Clementine just before she went over the waterfall.

"Thank you, Barnaby!" Clementine cheered. "You were so brave!"

Barnaby smiled, feeling proud. "I didn't know I could swim. It's actually wonderful!" He splashed happily, discovering a whole new world of fish and frogs beneath the surface.

Clementine glowed brighter than ever. "And I discovered something too! True courage isn't about being fearless. It's about doing what's right even when you're scared."

That night, Barnaby the bear swam under the moonlight with his orange friend floating beside him. He had learned that sometimes the scariest things lead to the most wonderful adventures—and that helping a friend is the bravest thing of all.
