The Bear and the Sleeping Friend
Bernie was a curious little bear with fur the color of cinnamon toast. Every morning, he'd wander through the magical forest, looking for adventures. But today, he found something strange.
Behind the oldest palm tree in the forest, there was a pool of sparkling blue water. And sitting beside it was a small wooden robot, its arms crossed, not moving at all.
"Hello?" called Bernie.
The robot didn't answer.
A butterfly landed on Bernie's nose. "That's Zippy," she whispered. "He's been a zombie for three years."
Bernie gasped. "A zombie? Is that scary?"
"No, silly!" The butterfly giggled. "A zombie is just something that forgot how to be alive. Zippy needs magic water to wake up. But he's too heavy to carry!"
Bernie looked at the poor robot, then at the magical pool. He knew what friendship meant—helping when someone needs it, even if it's hard.
The little bear pushed. He pulled. He used his strong paws to roll Zizzy closer and closer to the water. Finally—SPLASH!
The magical pool bubbles swirled around Zippy. His wooden eyes opened. His arms moved.
"I'm awake!" cheered Zippy. "Thank you, Bernie! You believed I could come back to life."
They played by the palm tree all day, racing around the pool and watching the sunset paint the water gold.
Bernie learned that sometimes things seem broken or lost forever—but with kindness and friendship, magic can happen. Even a zombie can become a best friend.
And from that day on, Bernie and Zippy had adventures together, always remembering: the real magic isn't in the water. It's in caring about others.
