The Bear and the Glowing Pool

Barnaby was a curious young bear who loved exploring the forest behind his family's cave. One sunny afternoon, he discovered something he'd never seen before — a bright blue rectangle lying on a mossy rock near a sparkling pool of water.

The object glowed like a captured firefly. Barnaby poked it with his nose, and suddenly it made a cheerful chime. Inside the glowing screen, tiny colored bubbles floated upward, like magic bees returning to their hive. He tapped one bubble with his clumsy paw, and beautiful music filled the air.

"What are you doing?" asked a tiny voice.

Barnaby looked around but saw no one. Then he looked closer at the pool. In the water, a small water sprite named Lila was peering up at him. She had silver hair that floated like seaweed and eyes that sparkled like morning dew.

"It's an iphone," Lila explained, surfacing from the pool. "Humans leave them behind sometimes. But you shouldn't play with it too long. The water in this pool has special magic — it shows you your heart's true wish if you're patient enough to look."

Barnaby set the iphone carefully on the grass. He gazed into the pool. At first, he only saw his own fuzzy reflection. But as he watched, the water began to ripple and swirl. He saw images of himself sharing honey with his family, teaching his little sister to catch fish, and sleeping under the stars with his friends.

"My wish," Barnaby whispered, "is already here."

Lila smiled and splashed happily. "Then you're the richest bear in the forest!"

Barnaby realized she was right. The glowing iphone was fun, but it couldn't compare to the love he already had. He left the human device by the pool, knowing another curious creature might find joy in it too.

That night, Barnaby shared extra honey with his family and told them about the magic pool. And sometimes, when he visited again, he could see tiny messages in the water — hello from other creatures who had learned that the best treasures are the ones we already hold in our hearts.
