The Baseball That Touched the Stars

Lily loved baseball more than anything. Every day after school, she'd grab her favorite glove and run to the park where her best friends Mateo and Sophie were waiting.

One afternoon, Lily hit the ball so high it disappeared into a thick cloud. They searched everywhere, even behind the old community center where nobody ever went. That's when Sophie spotted something strange—a thick black cable snaking up the side of the building, disappearing into the clouds above.

"Maybe the baseball got caught up there," Mateo suggested.

Lily found an old padel paddle near the building's entrance. It was painted bright yellow with sparkles, almost as if it belonged to someone magical. Without thinking, she grabbed it and started climbing the cable like it was a giant rope.

"Lily, come back!" Sophie called, but then she and Mateo grabbed onto the cable too.

Higher and higher they climbed, past birds and airplanes, until they reached something incredible—a floating pyramid made of crystal that shimmered like a rainbow. Inside, friendly glowing creatures were playing baseball with stars instead of balls!

"You found our special game," one creature said, handing Lily her baseball, now glowing with stardust. "But you also found something more important."

"What?" Lily asked.

"Friendship," the creature explained. "The magic only appears when true friends play together."

They slid down the cable, back to the park, their baseball still twinkling. From that day on, whenever they played together, the crystal pyramid would appear in the sky, reminding everyone that the best adventures aren't about winning—they're about sharing them with people you love.

And sometimes, if you look carefully on a clear day, you can still see the pyramid floating above the park, waiting for the next group of friends who believe in magic.
