The Baseball That Touched the Sky
Leo loved **running** through the tall grass behind his house, his favorite **baseball** glove always ready. Every afternoon after school, he'd play catch with his dad, dreaming of hitting the perfect home run.
One summer day, Leo noticed something strange—a thick black **cable** snaking through the grass, disappearing into an old shed behind the woods. He'd never seen it before. Curiosity tingling, he followed it, pushing through weeds and brambles until he reached the shed.
Inside, Leo gasped. The cable climbed upward, glowing softly, leading through a hole in the roof. He climbed after it, pulling himself onto the roof—and stopped dead in his tracks.
There, shimmering in golden light, floated a miniature **pyramid**, spinning slowly in the air. The cable connected to its side like an umbilical cord, pulsing with rainbow colors.
"Hello," whispered a voice.
Leo spun around. A small creature stood there—part fox, part starlight, with eyes like sapphires.
"I'm Orion," the creature said. "I've been waiting for a **friend**."
"A friend?" Leo repeated.
"The pyramid holds forgotten dreams," Orion explained. "But it needs someone who believes in magic to unlock them. Someone who can hit the right note."
The creature pointed to Leo's baseball.
Understanding dawned. Leo gripped his bat, stepped up to the floating pyramid, and swung. The ball connected with something—music, light, pure wonder.
The pyramid burst open, releasing thousands of glowing butterflies that carried messages: DREAM BIG. BELIEVE. YOU ARE NEVER ALONE.
Orion smiled. "You did it, Leo. Now these dreams will find children who need them."
Every day after school, Leo returned to play baseball with Orion, sending new dreams into the world. The cable between them became invisible, but their friendship was stronger than any magic.
