The Baseball That Taught the Bull to Fly

Lily loved her grandpa's stories about magical vitamins that could make you do impossible things. "Just one tiny vitamin," he'd wink, "and you might discover your hidden talent."

One summer afternoon, Lily sat under the swaying palm tree in her backyard, tossing her baseball up and down. She wanted to be a great pitcher, but the ball always landed in the garden.

Suddenly, something enormous trotted out from behind the garage. A real bull! But this bull looked different—his fur shimmered like stardust, and his eyes held the wisdom of ancient stories.

"I'm Barnaby," the bull said gently. "And I have a problem. I've always wanted to go swimming, but bulls sink like rocks."

Lily's eyes widened. Swimming bulls? Magic vitamins? Maybe this was her adventure!

"What if I help you?" Lily offered. "My grandpa says there's a special vitamin at Rainbow Falls that can help anyone do anything they dream of."

Barnaby's tail swished with hope. "Will you come with me?"

Lily grabbed her baseball. "Let's go!"

They traveled through meadows of talking flowers and forests where trees played hide-and-seek. Finally, they reached Rainbow Falls, where water sparkled in every color imaginable.

But the magical vitamin floated in the middle of the deep pool.

"I'll get it!" Barnaby said bravely. He stepped into the water and—splash!—began to sink.

Lily's mind raced. She couldn't swim either! Then she remembered her baseball. She threw it with all her might toward the floating vitamin.

*THWACK!* The baseball knocked the vitamin right onto the shore.

Barnaby scrambled out and swallowed the tiny vitamin. Suddenly, he began to float! Then swim! Then—he sprouted sparkly wings and flew!

"You did it!" Lily cheered.

Barnaby laughed. "We did it together. Your baseball and my courage made the magic happen."

That day, Lily learned that the best adventures—and the best magic—happen when friends work together. Sometimes the real vitamin isn't something you swallow, but the courage to help others.

And sometimes, a baseball can save the day.
