The Baseball Star's Secret Friend

Lily loved baseball more than anything. Every day after school, she'd grab her glove and run to the park, hoping someone would pick her for their team. But Lily was small for her age, and she usually sat on the bench.

One afternoon, Lily's mother handed her a small orange bottle. "Take your vitamin every day," she said. "It'll help you grow strong."

Lily sighed. Vitamins were boring. She wanted to be a baseball star, not take tiny orange pills.

That evening, something magical happened. When Lily opened the vitamin bottle, a tiny creature popped out! He was the size of a grape, wore a miniature baseball cap, and had sparkly wings.

"I'm Vit!" the creature announced. "I'm a vitamin guardian, and I've been watching you. I'm your personal spy helper!"

Lily gasped. "A spy?"

"Not a scary spy," Vit explained, zooming around her room. "I secretly watch people's dreams and help make them come true. And I know you want to be a great baseball player."

For the next week, Vit taught Lily secret tricks. He showed her how to hold the bat just right, how to watch the ball closely, and how to run faster than anyone in her class.

"You already had these powers inside you," Vit said. "You just needed someone to believe in you."

At the big Saturday game, Lily's team was losing. The coach finally called her name. "Lily, you're up to bat!"

Lily stepped to the plate, her heart pounding. She saw Vit sitting on her shoulder, invisible to everyone else.

"You've got this!" Vit whispered.

Lily swung her bat with all her might. *CRACK!* The ball sailed higher and farther than anyone had ever seen. It kept going and going, all the way over the fence!

"Home run!" everyone cheered.

That day, Lily learned something more important than winning. The real magic wasn't in a vitamin or a secret spy friend. The magic was believing in yourself. And sometimes, the best friends are the ones who help you discover your own special powers.

From then on, Lily was never picked last again. But she always made sure to include everyone on her team, because Vit had taught her that everyone has hidden talents waiting to shine.
