The Baseball Pyramid
Leo loved baseball more than anything. Every afternoon after school, he would grab his favorite bat and head to the park, with his golden retriever Sunny trotting happily beside him.
One hot summer day, Leo hit the baseball harder than ever before. CRACK! The ball soared into the sky, higher and higher, until it disappeared into a cloud. Sunny barked excitedly and started running toward the woods where the ball had vanished.
"Wait, Sunny!" Leo called, racing after his dog.
They ran past oak trees and across a babbling brook until suddenly—WHOOSH! They tumbled through a shimmering rainbow portal.
When Leo opened his eyes, he gasped. Before them stood a magnificent pyramid, shining like gold in the desert sun. But this wasn't like the pyramids in books. This one glowed with magical energy, and strange symbols floated around it.
An old man with a kindly face appeared. "Welcome, young one. I am Pharaoh Amun. We have been waiting for someone pure of heart to find us."
Leo clutched Sunny's fur. "Where are we?"
"This is the Pyramid of Dreams," Amun explained. "It appears only to those who believe in magic. Every thousand years, we choose one child to help protect our secrets."
He handed Leo a small crystal pyramid. "This will remind you that magic exists wherever you dare to imagine it. But you must promise to use it only for good."
Leo nodded solemnly. "I promise."
The next thing Leo knew, he and Sunny were back in the park, his baseball lying in the grass beside them. Had it all been a dream?
Then he reached into his pocket and felt something small and crystal—the pyramid was real!
From that day on, Leo and Sunny had wonderful adventures, and whenever someone asked why Leo always looked so happy, he would just smile and pat his pocket, knowing that magic was real, as long as you kept your heart open to wonder.
