The Baseball Pyramid

Leo loved baseball more than anything. He practiced hitting every day in his backyard, dreaming of hitting the perfect home run. But there was one thing he hated: spinach. "Yucky green leaves," he'd grumble whenever his mom served them.

One sunny afternoon, Leo swung his bat with all his might. *CRACK!* The baseball soared through the air, over the fence, and splashed into Mrs. Green's swimming pool. Leo rushed over to retrieve it, but when he reached the pool's edge, he gasped.

The water wasn't water anymore. It had turned into shimmering blue light. And floating in the middle, instead of his baseball, was a golden pyramid the size of a shoebox, glowing with mysterious symbols.

"Hello, young friend," whispered a voice. Leo spun around and saw a small girl with eyes like stars and skin that sparkled like moonlight. "I'm Cleo, guardian of the Magic Pyramid."

Cleo explained that the pyramid could grant one wish to anyone brave enough to solve its riddle. "But first, you must try something," she said, pulling a leafy green plant from her pocket. "Magic spinach from the pyramid's garden. It gives you courage to face your fears."

Leo wrinkled his nose. "I don't like spinach."

"That's because you've never tried *magic* spinach," Cleo winked.

Leo took a tiny bite. It tasted like sunshine and adventure! Suddenly, he felt brave and strong. Cleo led him into the pyramid, where walls sparkled with gems and ancient riddles floated in the air.

The pyramid's challenge: "What grows stronger when shared, brings joy when given away, and lasts forever when kept in your heart?"

Leo thought about his teammates, his family, and now Cleo. "Friendship!" he exclaimed.

The pyramid glowed brighter than ever. "Correct," it boomed. "Your wish?"

Leo smiled. "I wish for everyone to find a friend as wonderful as Cleo."

The pyramid spun and vanished, leaving Leo back at the pool edge with his baseball. Cleo was gone too, but Leo felt something warm in his pocket — a packet of magic spinach seeds and a note: "True friends are forever."

That evening, Leo ate every bite of spinach at dinner. "It's not so bad," he admitted, thinking of his pyramid adventure and the best friend he had made, even if just for one magical afternoon.

Sometimes the best adventures start with a baseball, end with a pyramid, and teach you that spinach — and friendship — are full of magic.
